Alaskan fishermen to handover yet another possible spy balloon to feds

Alaskan fishermen found what US officials will investigate as a potential spy balloon.

The commercial fishing vessel will bring the questionable object to shore sometime this weekend, three sources told CNN Friday.

The FBI will meet the ship when it arrives in port and take the unknown object to the agency’s lab in Quantico, Va., the outlet reported.

While the sources stressed to CNN that they do not know what the object is, the FBI said it resembles surveillance balloons used by foreign nations enough to look into further.

“The FBI is aware of debris found off the coast of Alaska by a commercial fishing vessel,” the agency told The Post Friday night.

Israeli forces storm Gaza’s Nasser hospital as airstrikes hit Khan Younis

Israeli forces said on Thursday they had raided the biggest functioning hospital in Gaza. Video obtained by Reuters shows chaos in al-Nasser hospital and people gathering in corridors that were filled with dust and smoke.

Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari described the raid on Nasser Hospital as “precise and limited” and said it was based on credible information that Hamas was hiding in the facility, had kept hostages there, and that bodies of hostages may still be there. A spokesperson for Hamas called Israel’s claim “lies.”

Health authorities in the Hamas-run enclave said Israel had forced out displaced people and families of medical staff sheltering in Nasser Hospital, with some 2,000 arriving in the southern border city of Rafah overnight and some pushing north to Deir Al-Balah in central Gaza.

Israel indicates deadline for Gaza ground offensive in Rafah | BBC News

Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz has warned that unless Hamas frees all hostages held in Gaza by 10 March an offensive will be launched in Rafah.

It is the first time Israel has said when its troops might enter Gaza’s overcrowded southern city.

Global opposition is growing to such an attack in Rafah, where some 1.5 million Palestinians are sheltering.

Earlier, the World Health Organization said a key Gaza hospital had ceased to function following an Israeli raid.

Speaking on Sunday, Mr Gantz, a former defence minister, said: “The world must know, and Hamas leaders must know – if by Ramadan our hostages are not home, the fighting will continue everywhere, to include the Rafah area.”

Ramadan – the Islamic holy month of fasting – begins on 10 March.

Pakistan election: Coalition talks confirmed after surprise win for Imran Khan supporters – BBC News

Pakistanis still do not know which party will form their next government or who their next prime minister will be four days after the hotly-contested general elections.

Despite former PM Imran Khan’s detention and the many hurdles thrown at his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), independent candidates backed by the party stunned observers by winning 93 National Assembly seats, the most by any party.

However it is far short of the 169-seat simple majority required to form a government.

The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) of another former PM, Nawaz Sharif, came in second with 75 seats.

Sharif was seen to have the backing of the country’s powerful military and had been expected to coast to victory, five years after he left Pakistan in disgrace.

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), led by political blue blood Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, came in third with 54 seats.

The PML-N and PPP – the second and third largest blocs – have confirmed they are now in discussions as to whether to form a coalition government.
