পাকিস্তানের ভোটাররা অন্তত নিজের ভোটটা দিতে পেরেছে—এই ভাবনায় অনেকেই পুলকিত বোধ করছেন। করতেই পারেন। পাকিস্তানে এমনিতেই ভোট দেওয়ার প্রবণতা কম। ১৯৭১-এর পর থেকে ধরলে ৫০ শতাংশের বেশি হলেই ধরা হয়, মানুষ ব্যাপক আগ্রহ নিয়ে বিপুল সংখ্যায় ভোট কেন্দ্রে গেছে। এবারের চিত্রটা অবশ্য ভিন্ন। সকালে ভোটার কম থাকলেও পরে বেড়েছে। ফলে স্থানীয় সময় বিকেল ৫টায় ভোটগ্রহণ শেষ হওয়ার কথা থাকলেও কোথাও কোথাও সন্ধ্যা ৭টা পর্যন্ত ভোট নিতে হয়েছে।
