HOT ROCKS in my Bushcraft Cot – Winter Camping in Alaska with a Survival Shelter

I am solo survival camping in Alaska with no tent so I am building a survival shelter and a bushcraft cot to sleep on. So I am going to be testing whether I can heat my cot with hot rocks. I am also going to be doing some campfire cooking while I am at it.

Dugout Shelter Under 10ft (3m) of Snow – Solo Camping in Survival Shelter During Snow Storm

It snowed 30 inches (76 cm) in less than 12 hrs but I was comfy and warm in my dugout shelter (snow cave) under 10 feet (3 meters) of snow. I built a mass snow cave the size of a small cabin carved from the snow in the Alaskan Mountains. But while the solo camping was comfortable, the return home was very not, my poor car was buried and it took me 3 hrs to dig myself to freedom and only after a lot of help from strangers.

4 Days Fishing & Camping in Alaska – Lake Trout Catch & Cook (Catching Every Fish in Alaska)

3 Days Stranded in Alaska Without a Tent – Camping in Deep Snow Survival Shelters

I rode the hurricane train on the Alaska Railroad and was dropped off in the middle of Alaska’s interior far from the nearest road or any civilization. I planned on skiing 11 miles off trail over a mountain pass to get back to the road system, but things didn’t go as planned.
